A couple of reviews today of music recently bought.

Lost in a Sea of Sleep by Indii Moon.

An album of guitar, voice and effects. It sounds simple yet Indii Moon has created an album of reflective songs with a siren-like ability to draw you in and entrance you. Plaintive songs as mysterious as the dark oceanic depths. Indii creates fascinating soundscapes that weave around her vocals. She describes the album as "waves of fractured dreams" and this is indeed what the album feels like. Snatches of emotions torn from the slumbering mind, half-remembered upon waking and leaving one with a feeling of something lost. An album I'd recommend buying and listening to on a regular basis. Nine songs of captivating beauty. Click the picture to go to the website.

An Ordinary Narrative by Nhung Nguyen.

This is another album that sounds, on the surface, deceptively simple yet it is capable of stirring complex emotions and thought-processes. Using piano and minimal effects Nhung has created seven songs that have a delighfully wistful and at times melancholy feel to them. This is an album to look back on the lost moments of our lives. Nhung describes the album as "the theme for the dreamy time of my youth" and the music does this brilliantly. She states that the raw quality of the seven pieces carry her honesty and sincere feelings towards life, music and memories and they do. They capture those moments from our past perfectly. The rawness, or honesty, matching the fuzziness of our recollections, the blending of one memory with another. An Ordinary Narrative is another album I'd recommend buying.
